5 Reasons for an early summer break in Hvar

1. St. Prosper (09.05-10.05)
Witness some of the best natural goodness of the island and explore some of the finest organic and homemade products. This festival is one of the most important in Hvar and is celebrated since 1671. St. Prosper is the patron saint of Hvar and is called the specialist saint for many diseases.

Celebrations are marked already throughout the day on May 9th and in the evening, with lively continuation in the morning.

The focus is aimed at showcasing the island’s most natural products, such as honey, lavender and different island specialties to show the island’s way of life and to diversify its touristic offer. The days of St. Prosper bring dance, events and a lot of gastronomical delights!

2. Cuisine, cuisine, cuisine

Restaurants have opened their doors and welcomed their first guests of the season. With temperatures rising above 20 degrees, there is nothing better than to enjoy a delicious fish meal or a juicy steak paired with your favorite glass of wine. As always, we welcome back our guest’s favorites in San MarcoButchery & Wine and BB Club.

“Eating is a necessity, but cooking is an art.”

3. 21st International Festival of Radio play and Documentary Radio Dramas (20.05-25.05)

Named after the father of Croatian poetry, Marko Marulić…

PRIX MARULIĆ - OLD TEXTS REVISITED is a festival organized by the Drama Department of Croatian Radio with the help of European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The contest includes 3 categories: drama, documentary and short forms which need to conform to the festivals motto “old texts revisited”.

The most important characteristic of the festival is the places it features: Loggia, Franciscan monastery, town fortress and the medieval palaces and gardens.

It is open to participants who are associate members of the EBU, as well as to other broadcasting organizations and independent producers, so we expect a lot of internationals coming to Hvar for this great event!

4. 9th Lavender festival (30.6.-01.07)

Fragrant fields bloom in early June, graciously embellishing and transforming the hills in Hvar into a vibrant purple color. If you haven’t witnessed this beauty, then you still have some time to plan your trip with us! Each year, the festival brings together locals and tourists to celebrate Hvar’s most cherished and well-known symbol. As many of you may have already observed, we include lavender in some of our most popular massages in Sensori Spa, Adriana Hotel. Not only does lavender relax, it also has one of the most aromatic smells also used for perfumes.

5. Enjoy all the benefits minus the crowd!

We see Hvar as the perfect island escape in the period out of high season. Now that the winter is long behind us, we see an abundance of sunny and warm days in front of us. Proclaimed as the island with a total of 311 days in the year, we enjoy the longest period of sunshine in the Adriatic. So, make your holiday in Croatia a memorable one in one of the most exciting resorts in this part of Europe and enjoy breathtaking sunsets on the horizon.

Later take a walk on the promenade, sip a cocktail on our famous Top Bar, or explore those best beaches in Hvar with sea that persistently simmers in the sun. Fancy a dip? Some already do!
