Eight years in a row, and Hvar is still one of Europe's favourites. The island has secured 9th place in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards, marking its eighth year in a row among Europe's top 10 islands.
Unlike awards decided by a panel of experts, the Readers' Choice Awards are based on the votes and travel experiences of Condé Nast Traveler readers. Hvar's appeal lies in its centuries-old streets and lively waterfronts, secluded beaches and a thriving cultural scene, all set against more than 2,700 hours of annual sunshine, six UNESCO recognitions and over 2,400 years of winemaking tradition. This unique combination is increasingly recognised by American travelers, reflected in rising overnight stays, while new direct flights between New York and Split provide faster and more convenient connections for a seamless travel experience.
International media attention continues to put Hvar in the spotlight, while investments in hospitality are giving visitors even more reasons to stay. Sunčani Hvar Hotels is contributing to this development with the new Sirena Resort concept, adding a fresh option to the island's accommodation offering.
Thank you to everyone who has experienced Hvar and chosen our hotels as part of their stay – we look forward to welcoming you again.
