Team Bahrain Merida press conference in Hvar

We are very pleased to welcome team BAHRAIN MERIDA for another December training camp on our beautiful island of Hvar. The team will spend two weeks in Hotel Amfora for their last training camp before the upcoming season 2019.

The formal team presentation took place today, 12th December at 14:30 in the Hvar Arsenal. The press conference brought many national and international journalists and photographers from all over the world who were able to interview the riders and staff.

We found out many interesting information regarding changes and plans for Team Bahrain Merida. More specifically, the most exciting news that was officially announced was the joint venture between McLaren and Bahrain Merida from the start of the 2019 road season, with the overall aim of becoming the most successful team in professional cycling. For the past year, the deal has been in the making, with shared interests from both sides. Merida will stay as the secondary sponsor of the team, as McLaren's experience in Formula 1 will be relied upon to improve the team in some specific areas.

The other news was that Vincenzo Nibali is to race both Giro d’italia and Tour de France. During the press conference the official new jersey was also presented as well as a total of 8 new riders who joined Team Bahrain Merida. Media days are not over yet and are officially taking place from December 12th to 14th.

Sunčani Hvar is pleased that the team chose the island for their training camp once again. This only further confirms that Hvar is an attractive destination with just the right amplitudes to offer great training conditions to amateurs as well as professionals.

This is why together with Meridienten we organized a Cycling training camp in Hvar that will take place on April 14th-19th & October 20th-25th 2019 that will allow guests the opportunity to discover Hvar the newest cycling getaway destination in Europe. Together with Mijo Bebić, who is a nutrition adviser and one of Croatia’s top cyclists and triathletes, you will be able to work on your cycling technique and get the latest nutrition advices. You can also bring your (non-cycling) partner with you, who can enjoy the sun, easy walking/hiking and cultural sightseeing routes –  to simply experience the Mediterranean as it once was”. With an annual average of 7.7 hours of sunshine per day, Hvar is the sunniest island in the Adriatic. During the training camp, guests will be based in Adriana, hvar spa hotel, Hvar’s stylish and newly refurbished boutique hotel with fully equipped Sensori Spa for an ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation experience after a day of biking.
