Artist Ivana Pleština Exhibition "Čovik i More"

Ivana Pleština born 02.02.1981 is a young talented artist from Zagreb, originally born in the county of Dalmatia. She combines her unique artistic skills with her state of the soul and creates dreamy and mythical sceneries shifting from surreal nature ambiances ("Between Heaven and Earth") to angelic ones ("Angel's Breathe" and "Bring me to life").

Ivana's artistic roots can be traced back to year 2011, when she started attending a painting course with artist Petra Grozaj in Zagreb. All her works are autobiographical formed by the constant interaction of her inner and outer world.  From early childhood she was drawn to all kinds of art but painting is a language through which she best expresses herself.

Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. Everything is intertwined - the world as we see it is a result of a clash between different worlds and different ambiances portrayed through imagination – this is a working hypothesis of the project named “Čovik i More” ("The Man and the Sea").

Typologically in “Čovik i More” we deal with an contemporary art installation with an extensively pervasive, mystical and transcendental motive of the Sea which echoes from the distance as a guardian of the deepest feelings and emotions.

In her universe everything gets on with everything through antinomy and paradoxicality, the feelings she explores reveal more and more sources of the eternal and convulsive beauty.

Visit Hvar and the work of this young talented artist and discover a hidden part of yourself.
