UNITED
United Airlines announced that commencing July 2021 it will offer new direct flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to Dubrovnik. This will give travelers more options for summer travel by flying directly to countries that are starting to reopen to vaccinated visitors. United is also the only airline that allows customers to upload vaccine results within its mobile app and website through the airline's Travel-Ready Center.
The addition of these new routes reflects an increase in interest among United's customers: in the last month, searches on United.com for flights to Croatia as well as Greece and Iceland are up 61%.
"As countries around the world begin the process of reopening, leisure travelers are eager to take a long-awaited getaway to new international destinations," said Patrick Quayle, vice president of international network and alliances.
This long-awaited direct line between Croatia and the USA was first introduced in 2019 but put on hold last year due to the situation with COVID-19. At that time there were three weekly flights between Philadelphia and Dubrovnik.
Details regarding flight
The only nonstop service between the U.S. and Croatia will commence on July 8, with service to Dubrovnik on Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. The airline will operate three weekly flights between Newark and Dubrovnik through October 3 on a Boeing 767-300ER with 30 United Polaris business class seats. Flights will operate Monday, Thursday, and Saturday from Newark and on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday from Dubrovnik and will be timed to connect in Newark to over 65 cities in North America.

DELTA
Delta has also announced new nonstop service four times a week from New York-JFK to Dubrovnik launching from July 2, 2021. This is the very first time that Delta will operate a nonstop service to Croatia. US travelers are able to travel with a negative PCR test, vaccination or recent recovery certificated and are not subject to quarantine. “Customers are at the center of everything we do, including where we fly, and the addition of a new outdoor-friendly destination is another sign of the surge in demand we’re seeing,” said Joe Esposito, S.V.P. – Network Planning. “More countries are easing restrictions for vaccinated travelers, and we’re ready to help reconnect people to their lives and loved ones.”
