Free climbing - Hvar

Hvar has no shortage of rocky crags and overhung cliffs.  Every day, year after year, they are waiting for those who seek the thrills of free climbing!  This is a sport for those who enjoy taking calculated risks and pushing their physical as well as psychological limits.  The reward comes in a rush of adrenaline, a one-of-a-kind view and perhaps an exhilarating plunge into the deep blue sea.

Each free climb adventure is unique and requires advance planning, so please contact us with your preferred dates, whether you wish a morning or late afternoon climb and where you are staying and we'll get back to you with a personal itinerary.

Meeting point: We will meet you at Hvar Adventure agency in Hvar downtown in front of the Arsenal Theatre.

Hiking tours

Some say that the best things in life are taken slowly, which gives more pleasure and serenity. Hvar invites those with meandering souls to hike through its lush hills and across its rocky shores.  Our expert guides will help you experience Hvar’s subtle nuances and savour its incredible scents with other like-minded hikers.  It is good to know that it doesn’t take much to experience a lot, and a day with nature will leave you feeling pleasantly tired and fulfilled.

Tour descriptions:

Day hike (6-7 hours walking) - Challenging
Drive by jeep to the highest part of the island where we will start our hike. You will enjoy beautiful scenery, a cave with a monastery , beautiful beaches, vineyards and so much more.
The walk from the higest peak to the village of Sveta Nedilja takes approx. 2 hrs. Last 45 min is a steep downhill. From Sveta Nedilja we will continue our walk on a wide offroad all the way to Dubovica bay (aprox 10 km). From Dubovica bay we have return transfer back to Hvar.
We start at 10 AM and return to Hvar around 4 PM.

1/2 day hike (4-5 hour walk) - Moderate
Tour starts with transfer from Hvar town to our hiking path. This program focuses on Hvar village life where you will see the beauties of traditional architecture and way of living, learn about medical herbs and much more.
The tour starts in Hvar town port where group meets with the guide. Passing though the town towards the bus station the guide will give the group short explanation of the town and historical buildings and monuments on their way.
From bus stop we have a 20 min transfer to our starting point, the village of Velo Grablje, which is located approx. 14 km from Hvar town. The road to the starting point will offer the group beautiful views of surrounding islands and on parts of the history and tradition on the island.
We start our walk from Velo Grablje towards Malo Grablje village on the part of the old trail which used to be the main road in medieval times, connecting Hvar with Stari Grad on the north side of the island. The entire trail is down hill, starting with approx 20 long steps and continuing as a small trail for aprox 1.5 km. After that part we continue our walk to Malo Grablje on a wide gravelly trail…
It usually takes us around 1h from Velo Grablje to Malo Grablje, with stops for explanations and taking pictures.
There is about 45 min more of walking on wide gravelly road to Milna, where our walk can finish. If you fell like more walking, we can continue all the way to Hvar.
Walk from Milna to Hvar is on a small rocky trail and it lasts aprox 1.30 h, depending on the pace.

Island jeep safari

From hidden coves on the coast to lush vineyards in the heart of the island, let us take you on a jeep safari packed with an exciting array of spectacular landscapes and azure vistas. We’ll also take you all the way to the highest point of Hvar, St. Nikola’s peak, whose awe-inspiring view will give you a definitive reason to say, ‘’there’s no better place in the world for me to be at this moment.’’
Program description: A short drive along dirt road leads to Malo Grablje, a small village abandoned decades ago. Upon arrival there will be a short walk through this picturesque 16th century village. After Malo Grablje we proceed to Velo Grablje and then stop in Vidikovac with a perfect view of the deepest bay on the island. Our guide will tell the group all about the area and about the oldest town in Croatia, Stari Grad, founded by ancient Greeks. After a short stop we drive to the highest peak of the island, Saint Nikola (626 m). From here there is a 360 degree unobstructed view of the island all the way across to the islands of Brač, Korčula and Vis. Below the high point of St. Nikola, on a sloping sunny hillside lies Sveta Nedija, a village surrounded with steep vineyards which are very difficult to tend. They are famous far and wide for high quality red wine produced from plavac grapes. Driving downhill your group will be constantly surprised by the sheer variety of Hvar's landscapes - vineyard-covered hills, olive groves and undulating fields of rosemary and lavender.
